final days

To say the kids are excited about a certain someone coming home is an understatement. I'd say they are downright beside themselves. This is good and bad as we are finding that with very high highs we also experience some very low lows. With each deployment as the kids grow older, the goodbye and separation become so much harder but the anticipation of homecoming just that much sweeter.

There is a big winter storm brewing for the weekend so it looks like we are going to be spending some quality time together in the house. There just might be welcome home signs plastered across every available surface by the time the freezing rain stops (it's that or four hundred rounds of Uno).
I'm going to sign off of my little space here for a short while but you can bet that the next time you see me, it will be in a photo with my whole, entire family.

  4. Wonderful news that you'll all be together soon. I'm sure you'll come up with a lot of neat activities for the kiddos to do while house bound. Do they have an early bedtime? That's your reward if they do.
    Love you all,
    Aunt Katherine
