winter wonder

Winter arrived quietly in North Carolina yesterday. While most of the country is digging out of their snow drifts, we have been puzzling over the warm bubble that seems to have surrounded us for the month of December. I guess I shouldn't complain...I guess it would be a pain to shovel the drive every day, bundle the kids up in winter gear only to have them cry potty! or spend hours stuck indoors due to below-zero wind chills...I guess. Then again, there is the sledding, the winter wonderland outside the windows, the cozy hours by the fire and the amazing still that is snowfall. Oh I do love snow. Well, for now we will just have to settle for the paper version taped to our windows but there is hope, winter has only just begun.

  1. If we have to have cold weather like today, I want snow (but for only a day or two.)

  2. Your paper snowflakes are lovely, but, yes, I do enjoy having the real thing falling so heavily. However, we're praying it warms up (into the 20s!) so we can take this kids sledding and skating this Christmas. Wish T and K could join us!

  3. I love the pictures of Kenna....so cute! And I'm looking forward to doing fun projects like these with Grant....he's still not even wild about coloring....I guess it's hard for a two-year-old to be still for that long!

  4. Family here in the northwest would love to share a little snow with you! About 10 inches has arrived in the last 24 hours -- on top of the 30" that we already had. The trip to Foza's Coffee shop today was a chore! d
