It's a good thing we like the beach because soon we're going to be spending a lot more time there.
Like all the time.
Ask Katie why and she'll tell you, "We're moving way out into the sea!"
That's right, the Marine Corps is moving us to Hawaii. We will be living on a very tiny island in a great big ocean and we're actually pretty excited about that. We're also a little overwhelmed by all that has to happen in a couple of short months. We're sad about leaving behind close friends here and being so very far from family there. We're a tiny bit worried about island fever and one. single. season. all. the. time. OK that one might only apply to me. Mostly, we're thrilled. The kids are talking surf boards and no more socks and swimming with turtles. Tristan is reading the Oahu guide books right along with me, marking pages and making plans.
Moving is bittersweet every time.
It's also an adventure every time.
And we can't imagine doing life any other way.

  2. Ooh, I do hope we get to come visit. Wish we could have seen you in FL, but somehow nine kids kept us all busy. :)
